Every Child Deserves A Second Chance
Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl, founded in 1990, has helped 2,783 children on 95 rescue missions by airlifting them from Chernobyl to Israel to escape their contaminated environment created by the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor explosion.
On Monday, November 21st, Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl held its 25th Children at Heart Gala. The gala was held at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers and was a spectacular event.
The evening was hosted by Nancy Spielberg, sister of the famed director Steven Spielberg, along with Academy and Golden Globe award-winning actor Jon Voigt. Bruce Beck, the Emmy Award winning WNBC-TV sportscaster, served as the auctioneer.

It was The Chaitovsky’s son Joshua who was being honored and was going to receive The New Leadership Award. Niles stated that he was Aaron’s business partner and that he felt honored to have been invited to be part of this wonderful celebration.
Another guest, Chris Esteban of New Jersey, shared that having seen the great work that the organization does, he will always remain steadfast in his commitment and support.
