FoodPorn Friday: Convivium Osteria

“Where Brooklyn at?!”

We heard this, oh, 87 times at the Jay-Z concert…responding every time with a “Wooo!”, waving our hands in the air like we just don’t care.  (Although we clearly SO did.)

(…was trying to throw a little rap in there, not sure of its success rate?)

Anyhow, YES, we were in Brooklyn so my 17 year old self could get her fill of Jay-to-the-Izzo.  But perhaps more importantly, we ate.  And oh, how we ate.

Convivium Osteria is a rustic little gem within walking distance of Barclays Center, so if you live in the area or are there to relive YOUR teenage fantasies via song, stop by for some old world cuisine that will transport you to the countryside of Italy before heading back to the streets of Brooklyn.  And trust me, even if you got 99 problems going in there, by the time you leave, being hungry ain’t one.

Let the foodporn begin…

    • You’re so welcome! Excited to check out your blog, too!:-)

    • Haha, I love a girl who appreciates a good chocolate cake!:-)

    • The rustic vibe was one of the highlights for me! Besides the food, of course;-)

    • Super excited to see other fun travel posts through the #SundayTraveler, headed to your blog now!:-)

  1. wow.! fabulous photos Jess. stunning food. (which were your 2 favorite courses in that meal?)
I did a couple of great meals on my own. nothing quite so stunning as that meal you had illustrated.. but also bought some chicken breasts stuffed with herbed cheese and wrapped with a slice or two of bacon — which I put out on the grill.
AMAZING!! Also I did bring in some Chronic Taco food.. (ordered far too much. had NO IDEA what I was ordering but realized too late it was 2.5 meals worth) . despite the fast foodie type thing. marinated by hand carne asada, carnitas and al pastor tacos.- to die for.

    • That sounds FABULOUS, Stevie!! Fiona would be so proud!:-)

The artichoke and polenta were by far my faves…but that chocolate cake was a close 3rd!;-)

  2. How did you find JayZ’s concert? When my friend took me with him for the grand opening of the Barclay Center, I had such high expectations but was fairly disappointed he didn’t quite deliver the WOW-factor. We did, however, had tons of fun being we had amazing seats and the people around us made it even better. Btw, LOVE the octopus salad in Osteria! Never had dessert though. We’ve always gone just further down the block at the Chocolate room for some amazing chocolates and desserts! The next time you’re there, check that place out.

    • Haha, so funny you said that! To be honest, I think we had a better time people watching the crowd rather than the actual concert itself:-) But love, love, love Barclays Center, what a great venue!

Thanks for the Chocolate Room recommendation, I’ll definitely check that out next time!:-)

    • Absolutely! Such a cute, intimate place…great for a date or to catch up with friends!

  3. Didn’t realize you would take the title so literally.

    • I absolutely loved the decor of the place! Small and intimate and rustic…and all those copper pots and pans!

    • Haha, only problem left will be cured by some Tums!;-)
