Reinvent At The Fifty

Summer travel and healthy living go together like brownies and hot fudge peas and carrots, do they not?  While NYC is certainly the epicure capital of the USA, there’s something about those 90 degree days…sweating on the subway platform…makeup dripping down your face…clothes clinging where they shouldn’t (you get the idea, right?), that makes the idea of a healthier lifestyle seem a bit more enticing.

Enter the Love Grace Cleanse at the adorable boutique-feel hotel, The Fifty.

The Affinia Fifty is teaming up with Brooklyn’s own Love Grace Juice to offer their guests a one or three day cleanse package that promises you’ll finish your vacation feeling recharged, refreshed, and really, really rejuvenated.  No better way to kick off your wellness goals than with locally sourced, all natural juices!

For those of you who are a little skeptical of the juice cleanse (You know who you are!  The one’s popping the questions: does this stuff even taste edible? is my skin REALLY going to be glowing? am I going to be starving midway through my first day?!), I can assure you that, YES, it’s totally tasty!  (As for the latter two…I haven’t actually done the cleanse myself,  but from friends that have done these cleanses, I’ll give their responses: yes and yes depends on your tolerance!  But you can do it, yay!  Chug, chug, chug!)

I had the opportunity to try the juices in cocktail form, and I promise you…they’re really, really good!  My favorite was a darling concoction called the New York Sunset, combining the Super Cider Juice, Jim Bean Honey, apple liqueur, carrot, ginger, and lemon.  Mmm!  Obviously if you’re cleansing you may want to leave out the hard stuff, but regardless, the juices themselves are delicious!

You can book your stay in Midtown Manhattan plus juice cleanse here.  The offer includes free wi-fi, and if you book the 3 day cleanse, a beautiful skin cleanse set, too!  How’s that for being the girl who’s glowing on the subway?!

I’m desperate to do a cleanse, I just need to find a time where I’m not super-busy and on the run! xx

  • When I have gone to various spots in Hawaii, I have tried to add in wellness options (massages mostly ) that are in sync with the traditions of that area. It’s interesting to do that since Hawaii has very distinct approaches. I had my first THAI massage there.

    • Used York City says:

That’s so cool, Stevie! I absolutely love Thai massages…really stretches out those muscles!;-)

  • Maria says:

I usually add a day or two of staycation onto any vacation so I can decompress, reflect and get ready for the hustle/bustle of the daily grind again but I think this would be a great alternative.

    • Used York City says:

That’s a great idea, Maria! Booking through a Saturday gives you that extra day to unpack/do laundry/rest from your vakay…really makes such a difference!

  • I am deseprate to go one a wellness / travel / food journey and one day I will. Who knows I might even make the love cleanse one day.

    • Used York City says:

I agree! I think it would be great to return from a vacation feeling more energized and healthier than when you left (lol, it’s usually quite the opposite, for me at least!;-)
