Lexington Avenue’s best bet for unbeatable Italian food, Davio’s Manhattan, recently launched their first ever brunch menu complete with its very own Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar! Music to your ears? We thought so!
The menu, curated by Executive Chef Chad Brown, is stacked with specialties like Buckwheat Pancakes served with buttermilk & honey mascarpone; Three Eggs Benedict on Focaccia with a Truffle Béarnaise; and Warm Apple Crisp, Vanilla Gelato, topped with Salted Caramel Sauce. I went with the French Toast, Peanut Butter, served over Seasonal Jam, which had me exclaiming, “how in the world have I never thought to try PB&J french toast before?!” Guys–it was sensational.
1. Spirit of choice (Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Grey Goose, Ketel One, Patron, Hendricks, Tanqueray)
2. Four toppings (Gorgonzola Stuffed Olives, Cherry Peppers, Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus, Celery, Cornichons, Jalapenos, Bacon, Butter Poached Lobster, Soppressata and Parmesan Skewer, Pepperoncinis, Manila Clam, Fennel, Orange, Clam Juice)
3. Spice (Sriracha, Cholula, Tapatio)
4. Salt (Urfa Biber, Istvan Style, Chili Lime)
The waiter then takes your slip of creativity to the bar, where the bartender works his magic, resulting in this:
Each Bloody Mary runs $12, with some of the special ingredients adding a bit more. I think the concept is bloody brilliant, and with its super central location across from Grand Central, not to mention attentive and energetic service, I can’t wait to return for many more leisurely, luxurious brunches with all the Bloody Mary lovers in my life!
