Need Some Peace And Quiet? Book A Breather!

As a blogger, I’m constantly on the lookout for quiet places with wi-fi access to write…with as little distractions as possible.  That last part is the hardest.  I adore NY Public Libraries…but they’re pretty jam packed with people seeking out the same.  And as much as I can go for a grande Cold Brew basically anytime of the day, NYC coffee shops aren’t always the quietest of places to sit and pound out an article.

Enter Breather.

Breather lets you rent beautiful, private spaces that can be reserved for any length of time – a short 30 minute recharge or an entire day of productivity.  It’s totally up to you.  With locations currently in New York City, Ottawa, Montreal, Boston, and San Francisco, Breather gives you access to spaces in cities that are otherwise crunched for personal space, for a completely reasonable price.

Here’s a few shots from my Breather blogging session:

How It Works

1. Find a Breather that you love.

I booked my Breather at Rock Plaza, smack in the heart of Midtown Manhattan where office space goes for a premium.  Literally, I was across the street from Rockefeller Center.  For a 2 hour time slot, the cost was $15 an hour, for a total of $30.  Rates vary per Breather, but considering the space you get (my room was bigger than my first studio apartment!), they’re all very fair.  Each Breather clearly states how many people the room can comfortably hold, as well as amenities in each one.  You can reserve the space right from your phone.

2.  Unlock the door.

Upon arriving to your Breather, a unique code will pop up on your Breather app that you then punch into the keypad on the door.  It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3…and unlock!

3. Make yourself at home.

The concept of Breather is you can use it as you would your own office.  Kick your feet up, whip out that laptop, and get to work!  Host a brainstorming session!  Interview someone!  Have a photoshoot for your blog!  Relieve the work stress by doing downward dogs!

Or not.
