My Monthly Manhattan Mini-Adventures

My Manhattan Mini-Adventures for the month of September are below, curating what I’m loving about NYC and life, currently.

One: Officially in the third trimester!  To prep for a peaceful labor (ha!) the hubs and I attended a Pre-Natal Yoga + Massage Class at the Prenatal Yoga Center on the UWS.  A total winner–especially the massage portion!;-)

Two: On the first day that officially felt like fall, I followed the lead of basically every other white girl in Manhattan and indulged in my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.  Typical, typical, I know, but never disappoints!

Three: The easiest way to update your NYC apartment without a huge expense or commitment?  Why, new pillow covers, of course!  Grabbed these wool/plaid motifs from West Elm, similar here!

Four: Our neighbor owns the delicious kosher restaurant on the UWS, My Most Favorite Food.  It’s really phenomenal (give it a try!), especially the desserts!  My favorites tied between the peanut butter pie + cheesecake!

Five: Finally caught the 2014 Tony Winner A Gentleman’s Guide To Love and Murder, and it was delicious fun!  Nonstop laughter, I tell you! p.s. it’s closing in January, so be sure to pick up your tickets this fall!

Six: Our #UYCBookclub met at the cutest little bookish venue this month–the Hyatt Herald Square’s Den on 31st Street.  Totally unexpected in terms of cuteness, well priced bar snacks and drinks, and excellent service!  Highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood, even for a cup of coffee!

Seven: My mother-in-law and I participated in our annual volunteer day at Dorot, delivering Rosh Hashanah meals and visiting with the NYC elderly.  Such a fun tradition!  (And lots of ways to get involved if you’re looking for an excellent charity!)

Eight: By far my favorite thing to cook when fall hits: soups!  This silky zucchini number has been on heavy rotation in our kitchen!

Nine: I know I’ve been TERRIBLE at keeping you guys posted with my language learning this year–maybe because I’ve been pretty terrible in my progress?;-)  (Haha more on that later!)  Regardless, I was thrilled to learn about a free program the New York Public Library offers called Mango Languages, an amazing program you can do right from your home computer or smart phone app, offered in TONS of different languages!  (Trust me, if they have Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, they most likely have whatever language you’re attempting to learn, too!)  It’s been really a wonderful learning tool, totally suggest checking it out!

p.s. in case you missed them, my little adventures for july and august, too!

What’s been your favorite mini-adventure this month?  Share below!
