5 Ways To Use Your (NY) City

friends-from-college

While Fall doesn’t officially start for another few weeks, Labor Day and the whole back-to-school season always has me in the mindset of sweater weather and pumpkin spice everything. I’ve corralled a few favorites below for you to add to your NYC agenda this month…PSL in hand, of course;-)

NYC Free Activity To DoMuseum Day Live (On September 23rd, museums all over the country are opening their doors for FREE entrance…and over 20 of those museums are right here in NYC! Check out the list on their website, and reserve a ticket for 2 for a place you haven’t been yet. Or if you’re in the mood for a little NY State getaway via Metronorth, consider getting tickets for a museum Upstate, and make it a day trip!)

NYC Book To ReadStandard Deviation (I read this on my summer vacation in Croatia and literally couldn’t put it down for two days. It’s a heavily character driven story, taking place mainly on the Upper West Side, following the lives of a couple and their son with Aspergers, and all the hysterical people who come in and out of their very New York lives. The perfect book for your morning commute.)

NYC Show To BingeFriends From College (This is a newbie on Netflix, and is a bit of a grown up version of How I Met Your Mother mixed with Gossip Girl. The scenes take you all over NYC, and the characters are totally flawed enough to be relatable. I binged it in a weekend;-)

NYC Sushi SpotSushiSamba (We went to this West Village spot for the first time to celebrate my hubby’s birthday last month, and while the food was creative and delicious–it’s Japanese, Brazilian, Peruvian fusion–I wanted to give a special gold star to the service at this spot. The waiters, manager, and ALL the staff were beyond friendly, especially considering we had a toddler dining past 7pm. It’s a lively spot, and is perfect for a fun date night/girls night out!)

NYC Opening To Get Pumped ForBoris and Horton (Sure, NYC has seen its fair share of cat cafes (read about the time I went to one here!), but this will be its first official dog cafe! Along with allowing you to bring your own pup in for playtime over wine, they will host regular adoption events, helping furry friends to find loving homes. We can’t wait to check it out as soon as it opens!)

How have you been using your city recently? Share below!
