Much like the saying “there’s no bad weather, only bad clothes”, I’ll take that one step further and say “there’s no distance in NYC too far to walk, if you have the right shoes!” Now, I’m not saying to run out and buy sneakers to run around the city in (although totally do it if sneaks are your thing!) But for fashion forward shoes that are also insanely comfortable (and last forever and ever and ever), I suggest Camper.
With three locations in Manhattan (Midtown East, Soho, and the Lower East Side), you can head there and try them on yourself–see what I’m talking about;-) Even their heels are crazy comfy–I treated myself to these little black ankle boots as a holiday gift and can’t stop raving about them. Miles are walked in them and I don’t even think about the fact that I’m in a heel!
These are my second pair of Campers, and I really can’t say enough good things (you may remember I first sung their praises here a few years ago.) I literally tell all my friends and family who complain about uncomfortable footwear to head there immediately and find a pair that speaks to them. In fact, when my husband and I were in Paris a few summers ago, he was complaining of having blisters on his feet from walking so much, and we happened to pass a Camper store. I promised him his feet would feel relief immediately, so we went in and got him a pair of tennis shoes. To this day, he calls them the most comfortable pair of shoes he owns!
Here’s a few more cute styles I love, if you’re in the market for you own pair of comfiest shoes ever;-)
p.s. if you’re looking for an easy pair of foldable ballet flats (i.e. commuting shoes) to keep in your purse while you’re wearing uncomfortable heels, Tieks are fabulous! and here’s where to head in your new kicks if you’re in the mood for the best hot chocolate in NYC.
